Haiku Reflections: Hidden Beauty

hidden beauty haiku

Sometimes beauty can be found, hidden in the most ordinary and mundane  of places.

I loved capturing this simple grey stone wall all “prettied up” with brilliant red flowers and shiny green leaves.

We should always be on the look-out and open to hidden beauty, in nature and also in the people we interact with, each day.

It is everywhere!  :)

  10. I have a thing for stone walls. A lot of the early settlers in Sydney built many houses and walls from the sandstone that lines the Sydney basin – so it is everywhere. I love the aesthetics of stone; it is comforting and solid. And the perfect backdrop!

  12. This is metaphorical, Geraldine, for life.

Some gray areas in life are beautiful when we embellish them with our personal touches. We all go through some difficult times but the beauty in our spirits could hide those pain inside us and those flaws just add to the beautiful souls that we are handcrafted by our creator.

We may have gray flaws in the outside, or we may be scarred inside, but the imprints of God’s masterful hand all over us embellish all that we are, beautiful in all angles inside and out.

    I wish you well.

    postscripts:

I got busy after my vacation finishing my art portfolio. I have completed already my painting collection and my online portfolio is ready for viewing in my web nook. I’m waiting for the printing house to finish the prints and my art portfolio would be ready to go around Art Galleries here in Chicago. I trust God now and fate to determine where this road is taking me. I did what I have to do, it is all in God’s hand now.

Thanks for your birthday greeting. I had fun celebrating the weekend travelling. It opened my eyes and mind to new things. I think I’m ready for a whole new journey in life.

  13. Hi Jeques,

Congrats and good luck re: your painting submissions, that’s wonderful news. I tried to leave a comment just now, over at your blog but it just kept downloading with no end in sight. :( Perhaps the abundance of photos (great to see though) that slowed down my ancient machine!

Hugs and keep me posted, G

  14. A fine thing to see, a wise message to read -

  15. Definitely beautiful. I don’t think it’s hard to find beauty when one looks for it. Thanks for sharing a snippet of your day. Have a great night.
