A Bit of Sunshine for a Cloudy Month

It’s been overcast and grey here in Interior BC, day after day after day….for what seems like weeks.

The sun came out yesterday (briefly) and it was so nice.

It’s even making me tired, unmotivated (I’m fighting that part) and cranky too. :(

The air quality isn’t very good when the clouds refuse to move on for days at a time. It’s like a box holding in the stale, polluted air; with the clouds above and the mountains around us. Not good!

I thought it would be nice to share a bit of shimmery sunshine from the archives,  here today.

I hope you enjoy it, even if you’re skies are clear and bright. How lucky you are, if they are! :)

  1. Oh my, you sure have my sympathy for living through these sunless days. You need to come visit me in AZ and soak up the sun. Bring your computer so you can get writing and be happy.

  2. Hi SandyL, There’s nothing like that scene happening here right now, this is an archives photo and it is from the summer. ;)

Hi Teri, Send some sunshine up this way, ok? I don’t think I’d like the intense heat there but I would love some sun. I am writing every day and it’s going great!

  3. It’s good to have sunny days but we don’t have many of them here, in the winter. It isn’t healthy and is rather depressing too. This is a nice photo but it’s definitely not what we have right now.

  4. Geraldine,
I know the way it can feel when it’s cloudy for days. As you know, in Saskatchewan we can have similar skies for days on end in the winter – although I don’t think with the same closed in feeling, as we are of course not surrounded by mountains.A sense of cabin fever can happen when it’s cloudy and cool.
I’m glad to hear you had respite today with sun – .it sure can make a difference.
What a gorgeous picture – you live in such beauty. Your summers must be a joy.
We’re having a strange winter – not much snow, although it was down to -42 with the windchill for several days last week. This week back to milder temperatures (-1 to -10) and we had freezing rain this a.m. :)
Here’s to more sun coming to you!
    Brenda

  5. Hi Joe, How I miss sunshine on a regular basis. And lots of snow too. :( Here’s hoping the skies clear here soon and stay that way for a while.

Hi Cheoy, Welcome and I agree. I wish the window view would improve here.

Hi Brenda, On the Prairies, the “boxed in” air was never a concern I thought about. But when you have day after day of it, with clouds and mountains holding in the pollution, it gets to be a serious health concern. It’s scary. I think everyone has had a weird winter. Welcome to the sad facts of global warming. :(

Thanks for stopping in, G :)

  6. Hang in there, we are do for some sunny weather, in fact with have full sun with a very blue sky and not a cloud in site today! I hope you have the same to! Fellow Northwesterner!
