You’ve got me jiggin’, Geraldine! I love the Irish Rovers, too. And now I’m remembering parties as a child and my father playing the spoons – lol – and tap dancing. My father was from Newfoundland and his Irish roots ran deep
Hi Teri, Already planned for that Teri! You have a shamrock plant, how cool is that.
Hi Talon, Playing the spoons, I’ve done that. This tune always makes me want to get up and dance. I’m glad this post conjured up some fun memories. I’m a jiggin’ too!
PS: I hadn’t played the whole video before today past the part with the Irish Rovers. What fun watching the kids playing recorders and the spoons at their party on the hill! Looks like a good way to leave cares behind!
ha. you got me moving..and its a nice break from writing my paper as well…really enjoyed the music…and now inspired to write mine for tomorrow! happy st pats!
Favorite songs can lift your spirits and live on, long after they are written. It was fun to watch this, The Irish Rovers were great and so were the kids up on the hill. What a fun post.

You could use this post for the music prompt tomorrow. I agree about music being so intricately woven in our lives. Can’t imagine being without it.

Jigging and foot tapping here…. how wonderful to hear Black Velvet again. Thank you, and Happy Saint Pat’s Day to you.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Geraldine (my St. Patty’s post was on my other blog today, Jim’s Little Blog).
I like your picture. Those plants grow wild like weeds in Ireland. I posted about one back in 2011 and 2007:

Music is one of the things that keeps me sane. It’s hard to imagine a world without music.

I like the fun, frivolous and carefree spirit of the Irish songs. They are the kind one can feel like kicking up a heel and getting into.
