A Winter Haiku Encore

This haiku poem/photo has been consistently at the top of my stats, for the past couple of weeks. There must be quite a few people out there, waiting for snow. I know I am! We’ve just had a sprinkle and quick meltdown, so far.
 Hope you enjoy the encore!

Autumn Images: Black and White

So often, Autumn is all about color.
I thought it might be interesting to take some time to focus on the shapes and more subtle shadings of Autumn instead, viewing them in black and white.
I hope you enjoy my latest “stroll” through Fall.

A Stroll Through Early Autumn…

 late blooming roses

shades of blue. berries for birds, still plentiful

hearty marigolds, hold their own

delicate pinks

lush greens, still to be seen

the underbrush, alive with color

brilliant reds, slowly emerge

swaying in the  breeze…

 glistening cobwebs

 mountain ash, in full glory

steps to the lake. secret revealed

summer bids
farewell with
autumn’s colorful
return!

Happy Autumn!

My favorite season has officially arrived!
The trees and plants in our area are still holding on to their summer “garb” for the most part, so I am featuring a file photo, taken last year. Can’t wait for this year’s “color show” to unfold, hopefully soon.
I also am looking  forward to sharing views of your [...]

“Thirsty” Pines!

As the earth prepares for winter.
The pines,
bid farewell
to summer
and
                                 brilliant green needles.
Slowly, they dry and whither.
Parched boughs of softly muted shades.
Resting on the chilled, brown soil.
Their thirst,
will remain unquenched.
Until we joyfully greet,
 next spring.

Haiku Reflections:Summer’s End Duet

We spent several hours out and about, on Labour Day; walking for miles, taking photos and breathing in the fresh (almost) Autumn air.
My favorite season is on the way!
I hope you enjoy the first “duet”  of several haiku/photos that I will be sharing, with this theme.
Summer may be ending but the magic of [...]
