I “met” Mary the Teach when I first started My Poetic Path. She is the creator of the very popular Ruby Tuesdays photo prompt challenge each week, over at her blog:  Work of the Poet.

Mary the Teach…what’s not to love about those specs eh!!!

Mary sent along these interview questions recently. I hope you all enjoy reading my answers. A bit more “scoop” on what makes me tick I guess.  😉

And btw, Ms. Mitz  is ONLY referred to as Ms. No Manners, when she accidentally on purpose misses the litter box!!!!

Ms. Mitzi aka Ms. NO Manners… striking a sexy pose!

Here goes…

1. How long have you been writing poetry? Who is your favorite poet, if you can pick one?

Off and on for about 20 years. My inspirations came and went, depending on what was happening in my life at a particular time. Now I am a lot more focused to “find the muse” and to experiment with a lot of different subjects, not just ones that I am personally impacted by. Probably why I enjoy the challenge of writing prompts so much!

Favorite poet, ummm….probably Robert Frost or Bliss Carmen. Pretty mainstream but I guess I’m in good company, right?

2. Tell us something about Mitzi.

Dear Ms. Mitzi aka Ms. No Manners (LOL) has been with me for OVER 20 years. She is still a little tiny terror. Still in great health, lots of get up and gooooo and loving her life. I have had her with me since she was six weeks old. She was chosen by a friend of mine, at the Humane Society and I am forever grateful for her suggestion and that Mitzi was waiting there that day. Mitzi is a treasure and always will be.

3. Are you a vegetarian? Will you tell us about some of your favorite veggie recipes?

Yes, I have been a vegetarian for about 18 years. Sometimes, not as strict as I should have been (and I’d still love to go all the way- vegan) but for the most part, yes, a proud vegetarian and glad that I am.

Being the author of an award-winning cookbook: Not Just for Vegetarians, I must admit that some of my fav recipes are actually my own!!! Blush…What can I say, cooking is a passion for me, it really, really is.cover-photoProbably would pick: Russian Beet Borscht and Bread-Machine Rosemary Flax Buns as two of my all time comfort favs.

Yes,  both recipes are at my other blog. Any one looking for  new recipe ideas, do check out: Veggies, Crafts and Tails  for review page and  extensive recipe archives.

4. What is the last thing you’ve knitted for a friend or family member?dscn1008

I made Joe a pair of heavy slipper socks in a lovely denim mix. Actually I’ve made a few pairs of these for gifts. So warm!!!!   You need that up here in Canada.

Chef Joe… creating a culinary masterpiece!

5. Tell us about the Write-A-Book Challenge.

I will let a recent blog post/page do the explaining. Here’s a link to the Write a Book Challenge  page that explains the whole challenge highlights and goals.

I do hope some of your readers decide to join us too. Sounds like a great group onboard for the year, already.

Thanks Mary. This was the most fun I ever had, being interviewed!  😉

  5. I didn’t know you wrote a book! So I’m glad you did this interview. I’m looking forward to trying some of your recipes! It is good that your cat has lived so long and well! I hope mine will as well, as he is truly my best friend. If he lives as long as your cat, I will be so thrilled as right now he is only 3.

  6. It was my pleasure, Geraldine!

  7. It’s nice to read more about you and be exposed to yet another poet–Bliss Carmen. I will find out more about this writer.

Love your knitting model and the kit!

  9. I am in love with Mitzi. She is gorgeous. And still hale and hearty at age 20. She is obviously very well cared for! That is brilliant about the book. You are a woman of many talents.
