  4. So endearing, I love that bike mine was silver and I called it ‘Ralph’???????? and if I didn’t do it right this time, so help me God, I’ve tried every possible ways…i think I’ll try posting something else see if it still brings it to the right tone than I,ll delete the new one

  5. I love your bike, Geraldine. Cycling for me was THE way to go. Gone are the days, I’m afraid, but they were happy ones.

  6. Makes me want to climb on that bike and head out on an adventure, Geraldine. Lovely! Both words and photo. Hope you have a really beautiful blogging break. Happy Canada Day!

  7. Both a wonderful haiku and photo! And what a HAPPY-looking bike!

Gosh, it’s been ages since I rode a bike.

    Have a lovely Sunday, Geraldine!

  8. The bicycle photo goes perfect with your haiku, Geraldine. A few well chosen words goes a long way. Enjoy the ride. Enjoy the day. 🙂

  9. The bike whispers from the past for me too. 😉

  10. Hi Joe, this bike does make me want to go for a bike ride too even though, as you know, I’m not all that great at bike riding.;) Maybe I can still work on that!

Hi Brian, Isn’t this just the coolest bike? I saw it at one of local bike shops out the front (around $5-600 as I remember, wow…expensive) and then out in the park one day when I took this pic. I can imagine you riding a bike. 🙂

Hi Rose, So nice to see you again too!

Hi Lorraine, LOL, I love it…Ralph the bike. I always named cars too. The last two we had before moving here were: Sunny (a new neon yellow station wagon) and Matilda (an older Chev). I never had a bike to name though. 😦

Hi Val, I had a boyfriend from England years ago and he said everyone where he lived rode bikes, even his dad, to work. I think that’s so cool. Where we are now, too many people get in their big trucks to go everywhere and don’t walk or cycle. It’s such great exercise I think.

Hi Talon, Me too! Thanks for your kind words and Happy July 1st. It’s gonna be a hot one here, the heat has finally arrived in BC. 😦 Over 30C and I run for cover. LOL

Hi Ron, That’s what I think too, this IS a happy looking bike! Thanks so much for your kind words.

Hi Joyce, That’s the beauty of haiku isn’t it? You’ve expressed it so well.

Hi EG, Nice to see you again. Glad this spoke to you. 😉

    Happy July 1st and July 4th, G

  11. Aww…I love this, Geraldine, evokes wonderful memories. Love your photo, too!
    Lauren 🙂

  12. I had a bike just like that only it was blue and I spent a lot of time riding it. What a fun whisper from the past.

  13. That does sound like a great day! I have so many memories of riding my bike up and down the streets as a kid!

  14. Wonderful haiku and photo! It reminds me of my younger days. 😀

  15. Hi Lauren, It’s great to see you again and thanks for your kind words.

Hi Teri, I think a blue version would be so pretty. I’m glad you enjoyed this post!

Hi Robyn, It’s a great way to travel although I’ve always been more of a walker and runner for exercise. 😉

Hi Jackie, Thanks so much Jackie. I hope it brought a smile to your day.

Thanks to everyone for their kind comments and Happy July, G

  16. Great photo and haiku! They remind me of younger days when I had more time and energy to bike ride.
