Can You Suggest a Good Prompt Blog ?

edited snow pic 3

If any of you can suggest a good prompt blog that you are really enjoying for poetry and/or photos, please let me know.

I miss participating regularly and sharing a prompt with other creative people.

Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find a good “fit” in recent weeks.

I was participating on a fairly regular basis at Poets United but I had to stop when security warnings started coming up when I visited there. This happened several times. I did contact one of the hosts there, but was told thatย it isn’t something at their end. Since it’s the only site where this is happening for me, I don’t think it’s at my end either. ๐Ÿ˜‰

So I’m still looking…

Thanks if you can help!

Happy Week to All.

And enjoy all the snow if you live in the East. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Ours is all melting away.ย

It’s plus 3C here in Interior BC so the only snow I’ve got to look at is around the blogs and here with the WP snow falling LOL

  1. Oh Geraldine, I wish I had a suggestion for you but I don’t participate in promptings, so I can’t be of any help there.

“And enjoy all the snow if you live in the East. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yup…ours is all melting away as well. In fact, we have none right now. Yesterday it snowed, but it was mixed with rain, so nothing settled. That’s okay though, because I know we’ve got more coming in the next couple of weeks. Yipeeee! ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a beautiful Sunday, my friend!

    P.S. Lovely photograph!

  2. I hope you find a GOOD prompt blog to participate at again and soon. I know you enjoy these.

And yes, we are quickly running out of snow here. Hard to believe the weather that’s in the East right now, compared to here.

  3. Geraldine, I don’t do any prompt blogs…Poets United is the only poetry blog that I participate in … and I do the Friday Flash 55’s…but neither offers prompts. If I learn of any, I’ll let you know.

Yes, we got 8″ of fresh powder yesterday and more on the way. We’re sitting at about 11″ of snow so far and it’s still not officially winter…can you hear me crying? ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Gerlaldine, I don’t do any prompt blogs either right now, since you stopped the one last summer and I was a part of the photo prompt, Friday Fictioneers moderated by Rochelle Fields (blog, Addicted to Purple) for a year or so before leaving that one as I did not care to read so many horror and twisted stories that went up, so dropped out. I liked the one you had though, and was a challenge and fun. If learn of one that you might be interested in I will send you the link or info. The snow we got here in northern Colo. is melting quickly as it got up to the fifties today and warming up but to get down to freezing again by end of the week after Tues. Have a great week. I am sometimes slow to get around to everyone’s blog with all the Christmas activity, etc. but have my next three posts scheduled to run before Christmas and on Christmas, with an interesting one you might like ready for this Wed. and following week. My next three posts are Christmas related and happy, cheerful and inspirational. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. I read Wabi Sabiโ€™s haiku
Through Wabi Sabi ~ ~ ~ poems and images
    a prompt blog.

  6. Hi Ron, Well I’m glad you are getting MORE snow soon and hopefully will share some more amazing photos of your beautiful, historic Philly. what a treat it is to visit, via your blog.

I love old buildings. Too often in Canada, they are victims to the wrecking ball of “progress”. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Hi Joe, I do too. I miss having prompts to work with, I enjoyed them especially on the weekends, when I had more free time. Hopefully, some good suggestions will come via this post.

Hi Kim, Thanks for keeping this in mind. And yes, Poets United, Pantry wasn’t really a “prompt” blog, but there is a nice community over there that I was enjoying.

Sounds like Ontario is really getting a blast of winter, more on the way! Wowsa, what a winter, eh?

Hi Joyce, Prompt blogs have to be a good fit, I agree. I don’t like reading to much of the horror, vampire, violent, dark… stories or poems either. Too depressing and/or just plain boring IMO.

And thanks for your kind words re: Woven Dreams, we did have a good group over there, at least for a while, didn’t we?
It just got to be too much for me to host another blog, with the 3 I have already.

I’m looking forward to your Christmas posts! sounds great.

Hi Edgar, I will definitely check that one out, thank you. I love haiku, as you already know. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Happy Writing and Reading, G

  7. Hi Geraldine, I participate at dVerse Poets, Imaginary Garden with Real Toads and Poets United for poetry. I used to participate at Haiku Heights and Carpe Diem for haiku but I don’t write haiku as often. For photography, I link to Skywatch Friday, Weekend Reflections, and The View from Right Here. Have fun linking! ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. the only I know of is three word wednesday ( and flashy fiction (, both are good but I have since stop participating.

whatever happen to the prompt sight that you had, with the one word prompt? I never got around to participating in that. we should all get together and form a new one but I don’t write poetry anymore though, only fiction.

hope you have a sweet day.

  9. Loredana and Lissa, thanks so much for both of your suggestions. I’m going to check them out in the new year.

Lissa, if you start a prompt blog, DO let me know, I’d be there for sure to participate.

    Hugs and Happy Writing, G
