Your Help with Two WordPress Questions, Please! ;-)

I’m fairly capable when it comes to navigating WordPress but there are two things I haven’t been able to figure out that I hope someone will be able to help me with.

First, how do you go about “bookmarking” a post at someone’s blog?

I see posts that I’d like to save (and sometimes reblog at a later date) but I don’t know how to save them.

Second, how do you find links to the blogs for all the people who follow yours?

I have the “community” feature on my sidebar but that only shows a limited number of the followers I have, at my two WP blogs. Over at Veggies, Yarns & Tails  I have over 400 followers, so it’s a long list there! 😉

If you can enlighten me about these two ??, I’d appreciate it.

  1. Sorry I can’t help, Geraldine. But there are tons of WordPress wizards out there who will surely be able to. 🙂

  2. Everytime that I try to follow you it tells me I need a WordPress address, so to hell with that but whether you’re on Firefox or Ineternet 6-7-or8 you can have bookmarks or just click on a star when you are on a blog you like and with to visit again since your have Internet 7 or 8 you can have favourites or bookmarks hope this held but WordPress is a bitch to get into lol God Luck

  3. I was going to suggest saving them to bookmarks… then I wondered if the star on top right of the page was just a Google thing. Sorry I can’t be of help. WordPress is not very welcoming… for ages I visited my friend’s blog and still can but WordPress suddenly doesn’t allow me to leave comments. I can only comment now by email and that’s a bit fiddly.

  4. If I want to reblog, I leave a comment asking for permission, and then when they respond I can reblog. No one has ever refused, but there’s always a first time. If I want to read something later, I bookmark it in my browser, not in WP. My browser is safari, and it lets me bookmark any webpage. Alternatively, I open it in a new tab or browser window and leave it open until I have time to read it. For a list of your followers, you can look at the bottom left of your stats page, and it will have a total for WP followers and right underneath is a + and the word BLOG. If you click on that word BLOG, it will take you to a list of your followers, and under each name is a link to their blog that you can click onto. Hope that helps. It sure is time consuming!!

  5. Hmmm. Well, I have a bookmark tab at the top of my screen and “click” add bookmark on the drop down menu. It saves the page I am viewing on my bookmark page.

For the links of blogs who follow you:
Go to your dashboard and click on site stats. Scroll to bottom of page. click on followers/+blog and your followers should come up.

    Good luck!

  6. I’m a techie moron. Sorry. Hope someone comes up with something for you. 🙂

  7. Posts you “LIKE” can be found on the Reader page, on the right hand side, by clicking ‘Posts I like.’ That works like bookmarking. I don’t know the answer to your second question. If a comment or like is left, the name or picture can be clicked to go to the gravatar page where their information can be found.

  8. I’m sorry Geraldine. My WP skills are still down at the basic blogging staff.
