My Poetic Path

My journey…shared in poems, prose and photos.

Your Techie Assistance Please!!! ;-)

I’d like to make a meditation/visualization CD to use after my yoga practice but don’t know how to do this.

I have the background music I want to use (on another CD) and want to do a voice-over of a meditation/visualization that I’ve created myself as part of my new CD.

If you can suggest an easy way to do this, I’d be very grateful. 🙂

I have yet to hear a meditation/visualization CD that I really like so I decided to try to create one of my own.

Have a wonderful week and again, thanks if you can help.

  1. If you have a mac, use iDVD. Just choose the CD from iTunes then add your voice-over to the CD, it’s that simple.

  2. Gosh Geraldine, I wish I could help you on this one but I know nothing about making a CD. However, it sounds like GENIE shared some great advice. Hope it works because I love your idea of making your own meditation CD.

Have a super week, my friend!

  3. I’d like to know how to make a CD too. Yours would be really good, I know it.

  4. Genie, I have a PC not a Mac so that isn’t workable for me. Thanks for trying to help though.

I REALLY want to make a meditation/visualization CD Ron but I just can’t figure out how to go about this, using the CD background music I have already, with my voice. Hopefully someone will have the answer!

I think it would be good too, Joe. I’ve “fine tuned’ the wording a lot for my script. Now, to get the info. to make the CD a reality!!!

I’m all ears! thanks to anyone reading who can help with this, G

  5. you might try uploading your files – photos & music & audio – to youtube and from there, you can use their tools – I think it’s the slideshow option – to make a video and then you download it and burn it onto your cd. you usually end up with a mp4 file which is a video file.

I’m not all that familiar with making videos but there are a lot of software you can use. I can’t recommend any as I don’t do videos. I hope you find your answer.

    have a great day.

  6. I can’t help you on this one either, Geraldine. I have worked with the CDs, for downloading, importing, but not with voice over, etc. My husband recently bought an ipod to use with some CDs for music in our seniors’ assisted living home ministry we are part of with a team with our church as he does the chapel services and music, etc. so is all new to him but getting familiar with it all. But, a big thing we are doing today in fact is we are finally going out to buy ourselves a new desktop computer with Windows 8 and wifi compatible and with Microsoft Word, etc. as our old Gateway desktop is now 8 yrs. old and very little memory and cannot hold all my programs and software upgrades, etc. Do you like using Windows 8? I remember you telling how you got a new PC with Windows 8, some time back.

  7. Lissa, It’s for an audio CD not a DVD so there is no video component, just the music on a CD I already have and as I’ve said above, I’d like to do a voice over script, to go with it, on the new CD I’m trying to make. I’m still hoping someone will have some easy answers for this. Thanks for trying though.

Joyce, re: Windows 8, if there was any way I could have a new computer AND Windows 7 on it, I’d be soooo happy. But the reality is the new PCs all seem to be preloaded with Windows 8. I still don’t like it but I’ve worked out some shortcuts how to get around some of their ahhhhem…”improvements” with this version. They do have a desktop option you can still use, if you also find the homepage, apps etc…too much to bother learning. But its still not the same as good ole Windows 7. How I loved using that version. Maybe they will revert back to one similar next time. I KNOW I’m not the only one who doesn’t like the 8 version. Best of luck with the learning curve!!!

    Happy Mid-Week, G

  8. I am also a Mac person so can’t offer any assistance either. Sorry. Have you tried googling how to do it?m that’s where I isusally end up when wondering how to do something. Of even YouTube might have help.

  9. Sorry for all the typos…been a long day😜

  10. Geraldine, I’ve never made a CD with voice-over so I can’t offer any suggestions. 😦 It sounds like it should be a simple thing, but I often find those end up being the most complicated! I’m wishing you luck and I bet someone knows how to do this without it involving pulling out hair or cursing! 🙂
