Changes, A Trip and Happy Thanksgiving!

changes

I read a quote similar to the one above at a WP blog, a couple of weeks ago.

It really made me stop and think about this simple but rather profound statement.

So many of us fear changes in life.

But without making changes when necessary, everything stays as it is or changes in ways beyond our control.

Change CAN be scary. 😦

But it can also provide a beginning and a new, exciting direction down the path of life. 🙂

Are you afraid of big changes in life or do you embrace them?

I’m heading to the beautiful Okanagan area of BC at the end of this week, you can read more about that here.

In the meantime, have a wonderful Thanksgiving to my Canadian readers and a beautiful week to all. 🙂

  1. That’s so true, if you want things to change you have to make changes, even if it is scary at times.

  2. Geraldine, you spoke such inspirational words of truth in this post!

“But without making changes when necessary, everything stays as it is or changes in ways beyond our control.”

You said it. And yes, change can be very scary, but without it…we would never grow. I for one, embrace change. And over the summer I went through some MAJOR changes, but it all worked out for the best.

Love the photograph and quote. Stunning!

Happy Thanksgiving Day to you, my friend. Have a great trip this week!

  3. You are right, Geraldine, and you’re also always very inspiring! Happy late Thanksgiving and take care of You! Hugs!

  4. Have a great holiday …. And isn’t it amazing how quickly we become complacent in our surroundings and unable / unwilling to make a change …. Comfort is key

  5. Hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful, Geraldine. I’ve always like change. I know that’s not the usual thing. Most changes, I find, are not only necessary, but for the better. It’s the big changes – like losing a loved one – that are hard to embrace. But still, life is so fluid. The changes remind me of that. Though a moment might be terrible, it is but one moment in a long long line.

  6. I completely agree Joe.

Yes Ron, you certainly did make some major changes happen in the past few weeks, emphasis on the word “make”. Wanting things to change without action is useless. I congratulate you on “going for it” and I’m so pleased everything has worked out for the best! 🙂

You are so kind Lauren, thank you!

So true Ms. Pie, so true….

Thanks for such an insightful comment Kim. Yes, changes like the loss of a loved one are always traumatic, I definitely am not referring to that kind of change, above. 😦 But how cool that you actually welcome change in your life, that’s such a good attitude to take.

Have a wonderful Wednesday and “see” you all soon, G

  7. Yes these words are so true.
