A Time to Hope and Reflect….

candles

Wishing you and your family a MUCH better year in 2021.

I hope you will stop by my author’s site and Veggies, Yarns & Tails too, for some additional holiday greetings and my current Amazon Kindle promotions.

This has been a good year to catch up on reading, in spite of all the challenges! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Take care, stay safe, be well.

PS: If anyone can enlighten me where to find the option to change the default page text color here at WP now, I would be oh so grateful. Posting here has become one big hassle. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Such Good Advice….

I needed to read this today.

I was in a bit of “funk” starting the week, trying to let go of what isn’t working out as planned.

But we all know…

THIS TOO… SHALL PASSย

Sending hugs and good wishes for the rest of the week.ย

๐ŸฑHappy October!๐Ÿฑ

mr cheddar orange and teapot

I don’t know where the time went, in September, the month just flew by.

The weather here on Vancouver Island is still warm and pleasant, most days.๐ŸŒป

The unpacking continues….we are making headway but still so much to do.

I hope you enjoy this Mr. Cheddar photo from the archives. One of my all time favorites.

It was inspired by the lyrics of a song, sung so beautifully by Judy Collins:

Chelsea Morning

But no sun today, the fabulous Mr. Cheddar is actually enjoying a nap right now.ย

The Autumn Leaves (haiku, movie and song) :-)

This is a reblog of an autumn post (from 2015) that I hope you enjoy.

A song and a movie that still comes to mind, this time of year. So haunting and beautiful.

I hope you enjoy my haiku and photo too.๐Ÿ˜Š

The unpacking continues here.ย We have now given away over 120 boxes of clothing, household items, books… to charity, so slowly but surely, making progress.

And today, we are setting up my office complete with new laptop and printer, yipee!

My Poetic Path

I โ™ฅย movies from the 40s and 50s!

We were watching a Joan Crawford movie last night: Humoresque (so sad but wonderful) and this haiku and archive post came to mind.ย

The Autumn Leaves is a song that I often have running through my mind, especially this time of year. As I mention in this post, it was also a Nat King Cole tune, that my beloved Grandma cherished.

And the movie of the same name is also one that I have never forgotten.Quite a โ€œracyโ€ film for its time (1956) and definitely with some disturbing content.

But, if you are a fan of Joan Crawford and/or movies from the 40s/50s like I am, do check this one out.

It also features a young and oh, so handsome Cliff Robertson. ย Also starring,ย Lorne Greene in a role that is far removed from his later, fatherlyโ€ฆ

Longing for Spring!

151Spring Fever has arrived earlier than usual!

We are having a very mild winter here on Vancouver Island but I’m still craving spring in a big way.

Can’t you just smell these lilacs? ๐Ÿ˜Š

PS: On an unrelated topic, is the new, “improved” WP editor driving you crazy?

Why they keep changing things here that were working just fine, I do not know. This simple post is taking way too long to complete and is not formatted as I would have liked. I just didn’t have time to keep resetting paragraphs, color, bolding….
