Remembering Michael Landon

Michael Landon Quotes

“Every script I’ve written and every series I’ve produced have expressed the things I most deeply believe.” Michael Landon

Michael Landon  (click to read his Wiki page)had only 54 years on this earth. But in that time, he spread so much good will, hope and inspiration.

He is one of my all-time fav actors, particularly for his role in the series: Highway to Heaven, which aired from 1984-89, ending just two years before his untimely death, due to cancer.

I recently purchased Season 1 and 2 from Amazon and I am really enjoying watching these shows again. Unlike so many other TV shows from the past, this one has stood the test of time so well. The stories are still relevant, entertaining and thought-provoking too.

I hope he’s got his real wings now. 😉

If you are familiar with this series, you’ll know what I mean!

RIP Michael. You will not be forgotten. A life that mattered.

Here’s my 5 Star Review from

How wonderful it has been to watch this inspiring and entertaining series, once again.

I loved Highway to Heaven when it first aired in the late 80s and unlike so many shows from that era, this one still “rings true” all these years later.

Michael Landon was perfect as Jonathan, the earth-bound angel on a mission to help all kinds of people in need, along with his trusty sidekick, Victor French, who was also a very good choice in his role.

Relevant, uplifting and with plenty of humor thrown in too.

A very well-spent 10. and I do plan to purchase more season dvds soon.

Product Review: Film Noir Collection

film noir

I’ve been a fan of “film noir” movies (click to read more, if you are not familiar with that movie genre) since I was a kid. Not that I knew what movies in this genre were actually called back then, LOL!

I always loved the mysterious feeling these movies portrayed, the night scenes, the danger, the spine-tingling suspense, the romance, the bad guys, the bad girls…what’s not to , right? 😉

I happened to find this Film Noir Collection: two DVD set over at Amazon recently for less than $10!!!

And that is for all 10 of these film noir classics:

As for quality, excellent picture and sound, considering the age of the original films these were reproduced from, all from the 40’s.

Only one thing that might be a negative for some viewers, this is a full-screen version not widescreen. For me though, it was fine, as we have an OLD TV and the full screen versions for movies are actually better.

This would also make a great gift for any “film noir” fans on your list. It comes in a black metal tin, instead of the usual plastic DVD case. Add a red ribbon tied around it and you’d be good to go! 😉

If you are a film noir fan like I am or know someone who is, this is a must have collection!

Happy Viewing!

Product Review: My Seven Year Pen (It’s Still Going Strong!!) ;-)

I first reviewed the Seven Year Pen (click to read review) back in 2011, over at my review blog: My Real Life Reviews.

it then and almost 4 years later, I still do. 😉

I have 3 of these pens now and have given some for gifts too. My first one is still going strong and I use it on a regular basis.

Another thing I like about these pens (as one person also commented about in the original review) being a “south-paw” it’s hard to find pens that have fast drying ink that doesn’t smear, when writing with your left hand. These pens are great in this respect as well.

Apparently, over 100 MILLION pens end up in landfills each year!!! 😦

That’s a staggering number and such a waste. The Seven Year Pen is definitely a “green-step” in the right direction. 🙂

If you haven’t tried one yet, you can purchase them here (prices vary at Amazon, $5-9… depending on the style/color you choose).

They are also available at Chapters/Indigo stores, in Canada and at the Seltzer company website.

If you have tried one of these pens, do share your experience!

You can read why I ♥ this CD by Louis Armstrong so much here.

It really is a wonderful CD, for so many reasons.

And I wasn’t even a Louis Armstrong fan before this! 😉
