I think I can still reach my time goal; I am on the home stretch. 😉

I don’t know why this particular book project has taken me sooooo long to complete.

But right now, I’m just focused on the fact that it ISalmost complete and that’s a good thing! 🙂

In the meantime, I am having a free Kindle promo this weekend for my other GGK cookbook:

Amazon Book “Breakthrough” on Black Friday :-)

I was over at Amazon.com and Amazon.ca yesterday morning, browsing; along with a gazillion other shoppers and to my surprise and delight, 2 of my books/eBooks were on 3 Top 100 PAID lists! 🙂

Here’s a screenshot from around 9AM, Black Friday over at  Amazon.com from the:

Top 100 Paid List for Vegetarian Cookbooks:

The Groovy Green Kitchen on Black Friday 2014 at 9 AM

The Groovy Green Kitchen: Weeknight Veggie Slow Cooker was at #75.

Not number 1 but heh on a Paid List, especially on Black Friday, I’ll take it. 😉

GGK COVER WITH MY PHOTO-FRONT COVER ONLY

It’s a rare honor/treat to end up on any Top 100 List at Amazon, especially the paid lists considering the millions of books that are available at Amazon. I wasn’t able to see if I moved up any further later in the day as I was out and about with a lot of errands to do, but it sure was a nice way to start the morning. 🙂

Meanwhile, over at Amazon.ca, Haiku Reflections: The Four Seasons Volume 1 was on 2 Top 100 Paid Lists: Love Poems and Haiku and Japanese.

Considering how many people were online at Amazon.com and .ca shopping yesterday (I’m guessing in the millions!) that made it even more special.

It also gave me a “kick in the pants” to get back working on my two current eBook projects more diligently. 😉

I’ve been rather lazy about getting these projects finished but I’m digging in this week to change that.

One is the second installment in The Groovy Green Kitchen series, the other is a motivational book about a number of topics including the Law of Attraction.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Happy Shopping, Cooking and Reading too! 😉

Friday Funnies! ;-) Week 1

Welcome to:

Friday Funnies!

Week 1

velveeta box

This is a story  (click to watch the news video) that made me LOL this week. I hope it does for you too. 🙂

Apparently, there is a ‘cheesy meltdown’ happening in the U.S., with a rumour of Velveeta shortages looming.

And with the Super Bowl coming up very soon, that means a possible “dipping disaster” of major proportion for Velveeta dip lovers everywhere!

I must be living a sheltered life (at least in terms of football party snack foods) but I didn’t even realize that people ate Velveeta anymore. 😉

This was a staple when I was a kid.

We loved it on :

Grilled cheese sandwiches, in mac and cheese, or a slice/chunk, straight from the box.

And always cut with the Kraft wire cutter that we got free, from sending in box tops. Anyone remember those???

Not to offend any Velveeta fans, but this is IMO, one strange “food” and far from any cheese that I’m familiar with now. I still remember that strange, rubbery texture and unique flavor. 😉

But apparently, there is a whole new generation of Velveeta lovers who are seriously addicted to this Kraft classic.

Who’d a thunk it?

Goes to show, with enough hype and thanks to Facebook etc. anything can be sold and in HUGE quantities too. 😉

More Autumn Colors to Share/Muffins too!

Aren’t these gorgeous!

I have no idea what plant this is but the colors were just amazing. Hopefully the photo does it justice on your computer.

I never get tired of looking at Mountain Ash! What an incredible orange color.

Silvery Splendour!

Little daisies, holding their own.

Touches of red in the shiny green ivy.

And the muffins?

This recipe has been getting a lot of hits this past week: Cheddar Cheese muffins. Great with soups, stew, chili. 🙂

Simple Pleasures: Autumn’s Bountiful Harvest

One of my favorite simple pleasures of Autumn.

The harvest of tree fruits and root vegetables, now at their flavorful peak. Including of course, crisp and delicious fall apples.

These BC Gala apples are so good to eat fresh or to add to a favorite recipe.

And don’t they make a lovely (albeit photo) still life to behold?

One of my favorite apple recipes from Not Just for Vegetarians is: Curried Apple Soup(click for recipe).

Tangy, satisfying and a great choice for any fall supper.

What is your favorite apple variety/recipe?

Happy Cooking and Happy Autumn! (it’s almost here)

Don’t forget to savor the simple pleasures, every day!   🙂

In My Kitchen

In my kitchen, I create.
Breads to rise and cakes to bake.

Here, I stir…..
Knead and saute.
Spoons and knives, in happy disarray.

In my kitchen, I am Queen!
Baking cobblers, date bars and other sweet dreams.

Soups and salads, lovingly prepared.
With a smidge of spice and a dash of flair.

Blissfully, I’m lost….
In heady aromas and tastes.
A world of flavors and delights to partake.

I am home.
Oh so free.
This truly is, where I am ME!

The stress of the day is left behind.
It’s time to create, all problems resigned.

Pity those who can’t boil an egg.
Seeking culinary skills, they will often beg.

The chemistry of cooking, a wonder to share.
It’s almost like love, but with calories…
Oh dear!

In my kitchen, safe and warm.
A haven…
….’flour heaven’ ?
So glad to be home.
