Word of the Week: Share

candles

A holiday post (see below) from several years ago that came to mind today. From my “word of the week” series.

Christmas 🎄and sharing, they really do go hand in hand.

I feel truly blessed especially this year, to be living on beautiful Vancouver Island in our nice home and area.

As is usually the case , we will once again be helping out at one or more charity lunches. One of my long time Christmas traditions.

What is something you usually share during the holidays? Your time, talents….

My Poetic Path

I’ve always believed that it’s important and meaningful to share my talents, time  and when it’s possible belongings and other resources with people that  I know and also those I have yet to meet. Particularly those in dire need.

At this time of year, that belief is brought to mind on a daily basis. Joe and I plan to help out at various charitable dinners and events during the next few weeks. We also are buying some treats to supply to a local food bank, to distribute at Christmas time.

To share…what does it mean to you?

For me, it’s always brought unexpected and memorable rewards. It’s part of who I am. Having been through some difficult years personally, it’s even more relevant now. ♥

PS: Is there anything better than sharing food and recipes?

Here’s one of mine, a Cranberry Wheatgerm Muffin recipe you might enjoy! 🙂

🍁Happy (Canadian)Thanksgiving!🍁

Encore sentiments, from my other WP blog.

❤Happy weekend, wherever you may be!❤

VEGGIES, YARNS & TAILS

It’s Thanksgiving weekend, here in Canada.

🌼I have much to be grateful for.🌼

This holiday just makes me think about those people (past and present) and things, even more than usual.😊

I think it’s a great idea to start the day, with a gratitude list. I try to do that, every day. Sets a positive tone for the rest of the day too.

🌹What are you most grateful for?🌹

It’s Thanksgiving weekend, here in Canada!

Mr. Cheddar and I are both grateful for so many things.

-My talents and abilities.

-My good health and good energy.

-The beauty in nature: clean water, beautiful birds, plants, trees, blue skies, the changing weather.

and so much more….

♥♥

MR. CHEDDAR’S CATITUDE LIST:

-Lots of kibble and treats in the cupboard, at ALL TIMES!

A Thanksgiving Encore

All together now…..YUMMMMM!!!!!    😉

Wanted to re-visit and share an encore post that I wrote last Thanksgiving Day (the Canadian one in October ) over at my other blog: Veggies, Crafts and Tails. It includes some of my thoughts on Thanksgiving Day and how Joe and I like to commemorate the day. Also, in a more general sense, how I try to be thankful for all the good things and people in my life, every single day.

This post has been getting a LOT of hits again this year and I thought perhaps some of my new readers at MPP would enjoy reading this one too.

I included the recipe for these yummy cookies from my cookbook: Not Just for Vegetarians. So much better to bake your own and easier than trying to dip one of these in coffee or tea, via your computer screen.   😉

Happy Thanksgiving Day wherever you are!

Simple Pleasures: Gratitude

dscn09891

10 simple pleasures that I am grateful for (in no particular order)

*  To live in a place where four distinct seasons can be enjoyed.

*  To be able to read a good book, with a cup of tea and a cozy blanket.

*  To create a new recipe that turns out great, the first time.

*  To walk through freshly-fallen snow, before anyone else has.

*  To feel the warmth of sunlight on my face.

*  To share a really good, long, loud laugh.

*  To find the perfect word or phrase, when I am writing a poem or story.

*  To feel younger than my years.

* To feel that something I contributed made a real difference.

* Most of all (and this is a biggie) to know that the best person I have ever met loves… ME!

Written for the Sunday Scribblings prompt: Grateful.

I am enjoying reading so many gratitude lists around the blogs. It is good to focus on what we are blessed with, isn’t it?

Wishing my friends in the U.S.A. a wonderful Thanksgiving Day.  🙂
