Haiku Reflections: Spring IS On the Way!

spring IS on the way haiku

We had a glorious, sunny day yesterday, here in Interior BC.

Joe and I took some time off from work/chores/to-do-lists and decided to take a LONG walk.

We ended up down at our lake shore, sitting in the sun, soaking up some rays and good energy. 🙂

It felt so good to have sun on my face again and to see a really clear, blue sky, 🙂 after too many weeks of dark cloudy days. 😦

Spring really IS on the way here.

How about where you are? Any signs of spring?

Have a wonderful week!

Haiku Reflections: Snow Melts, Reveals Spring

snow melts reveals spring

Spring comes early, here in BC Canada.

And this year, I can’t wait! 🙂

Unlike where I grew up on the Prairies, where it’s not unusual to have snow, well into May.

I’ve had spring on my mind a lot these days. It’s been so grey and dreary lately. 😦

But thoughts of sunshine and color, keep me looking forward; if only in my thoughts and dreams.

This haiku from my first haiku book: Haiku Reflections: The Four Seasons, came to mind recently too.

It also gave me a little mood-boost! I hope it does the same for you too! 🙂

Happy (and hopefully, early) Spring!

I’m so happy to have this latest book completed and happy how it turned out too.

Even have my first review over at Amazon already, woohoo…thanks L! 🙂

I’ve shared a sneak peek from the Winter section of the book, above.

Winter can be a tough time for all of us. But I hope that these poems bring to mind, some of the magic of this upcoming season.

Happy Weekend (and Black Friday Shopping!) to All. 🙂

Ta-da…and the cover choice is:

Haiku Reflections ii front cover

Daisies!

It was a toss-up for me, between the daisies and the oak leaf for my new Haiku Reflections II cover but I went with the daisies in the end as I thought it was a better contrast with the pale green cover.

I AM going to use the oak leaf though, for an upcoming volume of Haiku Reflections, this one with a  different colored cover background, for more of a contrast.

Thanks so much to everyone who voted and left feedback for the various photos I was considering.

I loved reading all your comments. 🙂

It was hard to decide on just one photo, after reading all your great ideas and varied thoughts on the different photos.

The final, print document for Haiku Reflections II is just being processed over at CreateSpace right now.

I’ll also be publishing it at KDP as a Kindle eBook.

Both should be available by the end of this week, over at Amazon.

I also just posted my: 20 under $20 Holiday Gift Suggestion List for 2013, over at My Real Life Reviews.Hope you’ll check that out too. 🙂

I’m having a few problems with Blogger acting wonky recently. Readers telling me they can’t comment and some difficulty with posting over there too.

Anyone else having Blogger problems?

Happy Thanksgiving to my U.S. readers and Happy Week to All. 🙂

I am working on the second volume of Haiku Reflections right now.

I like the cover color (spring green) but I can’t decide on which photo to use.

Your opinion would be most appreciated. Which one do you like best?

Please disregard text color and cropping.

This is from a screenshot I took off CreateSpace and cropped with MS Paint, so not exactly as it will look in the end.

Thanks so much! 🙂

Getting Over the “Snuffles” and an Upcoming Free Promo

I rarely get sick but I’m just getting over a cold right now. 😦

I don’t “do sick” well or often and I’m getting fed up with sitting around on the couch reading or napping, when I’ve got a pile of work I should be doing instead. Oh well, this too shall pass.

On a happier note, I have another free Kindle ebook promo coming up this Friday and Saturday (15th- 16th) for:

haiku cover from vespers blog

Haiku Reflections: The Four Seasons

I’ve been happy to note that Haiku Reflections continues to be on the Top 100 Paid Best Sellers: Poetry: Japanese and Haiku, over at Amazon. 😉

I also recently completed all the haiku poems for my new poetry book/ebook, that will be published shortly:

Haiku Reflections II: The Four Seasons

As soon as I’m feeling better, I’ll be getting that project completed. 🙂

Hope you are having a good and “snuffle-free” week.

But judging by what I was reading on the WP Reader yesterday, there are a lot of bloggers “under the weather” right now.
