I noted this post in the archives, combining an autumn poem with the photo, that I just posted below this one.
Hope you enjoy the poetic addition! 😉
It’s warm and sunny here in BC.
I was out in a short-sleeved sweater yesterday. What a beautiful day it was! 🙂
Hope the weather is fine, wherever you are.
Have a Glorious Autumn Weekend!
Also sharing this Sunday with Poets United.
Gold. Orange. Green. Brown. Red.
Maple leaves in every shade.
Season of splendour.
Light through the trees.
Scent of wood fires burning.
Time to close my book.
Heading back to school.
Kids laughing! Such carefree days.
PS: One of the MANY things I love about eBooks is being able to add some color and photos, without the added cost as in print books. I think it adds to the presentation and enjoyment of any book.
When I recently created a Kindle version of my haiku book: Haiku Reflections, I added seasonal photos for each section. The Autumn one is featured above. The three poems are also from Haiku Reflections.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend. I hope you have some amazing colors to enjoy already, wherever you are! 🙂
Nothing much for colored foliage here in BC yet. 😦 Hopefully soon.

Happy Labor Day! 🙂
UPDATE AUGUST 28, 13:
ANOTHER LATE SUMMER POST FROM THE ARCHIVES.
HOPE YOU ENJOY THIS HAIKU DUET FOR THE FIRST TIME OR PERHAPS, AGAIN. :<)
HAPPY LABOUR DAY WEEKEND
HAPPY AUTUMN, BRING IT ON!!!
PS: Sorry for the “bunched up” lines here in my update. And if you click the lower photo, it enlarges. WP…nuff said!!!
We spent several hours out and about, on Labour Day; walking for miles, taking photos and breathing in the fresh (almost) Autumn air.
My favorite season is on the way!
I hope you enjoy the first “duet” of several haiku/photos that I will be sharing, with this theme.
Summer may be ending but the magic of Autumn has just begun!🙂
What is your favorite season and why?
Poem for Autumn
Season of splendour.
As Mother Earth gently rests her weary head.
Preparing for the long sleep ahead.
Harbinger to the winter chill.
But for now…
Nature’s paintbrush is busy.
With brilliant palette of crimson and gold.
The forest ablaze with colour.
As the late summer sun still warms the days.
My favourite season.
It’s beauty far surpassing the others.
A magical time of awakenings and endings.
Like no other.
A joy to once again rediscover.
We are reminded of another year’s passing.
Of changes, inevitable.
Required in all things.
And to everything there is a season,
and a reason we will find,
It’s loveliness and wonder endures.
Always a feast for the senses.
A gilded gift we receive.
To dazzle and delight.
We put away our thoughts.
Of the cold days ahead.
There is so much to enjoy right now.
Autumn’s beauty to behold.

This is a popular poem/topic year after year, based on the stats.
I guess there are a lot of people who love Autumn as much as I do. 🙂
Mountain Ash in full bloom.
A constant feast for the senses.
I think everything about Autumn is a constant feast for the senses! 😉

I am soooo ready for Autumn to arrive; my favorite time of year.
And to put the relentless heat of recent weeks to rest.
Fall! Bring it on. 😉
