A Quote I “Needed” Recently ;-)

the best way to begin

After a very productive year in 2013, it seemed that I had “lost my steam” when it came to creative projects, since the new year began. In addition to a number of offline projects I’m (trying) to work on, I also have 3 new books/ebooks pending.

This past week, I knew I had to get myself in gear and really start moving on all my projects. The quote above, once again came to mind. It’s one of my own and I hope you find it helpful too.

And that’s exactly what I needed to do. JUST BEGIN and let the muse follow.

And you know, it worked! Simple but powerful words.

In the past couple of days alone, I’ve gotten 20 pages of one of my books typed and formatted and I hope make that will have it finished by the first week in April, before my birthday!

What do you do when you feel less than motivated? When you have lost your muse?

Suggestions like these are always welcome. We all need them, at least some of the time. 😉

Have a wonderful weekend! 🙂

  1. “And you know, it worked! Simple but powerful words.”

Yaaaaaaaaaaay!!!! Glad to hear that, Geraldine! And you are so right, sometimes we just have to take even the first step and then VIOLA…the muse follows!

Congratulations on getting 20 pages typed and formatted!

    *cheers*

For me, I do different things. Sometimes I nudge myself to move forward. And then other times I will totally remove myself from whatever I need to do and take walk outside or do something completely different. And that will often spark my inspiration again.

Have a great weekend, my friend!

  2. P.S. GORGEOUS photo of the pink azaleas!

  3. I love this quote and image, Geraldine, and I’m so glad the muse arrived for you again! When I hit only blank pages, I take a break. Then my muse comes when I least expect it; usually, then, those thoughts come pouring out. I love those times! Take care and have a lovely Friday and weekend ahead! xx

  4. Those are wise words and so true. Great quote. And well done on all the progress this past week, keep on going. 2013 was an amazing year for you, you got so much good work done. And you’ll do it again this year, I know it.

    Love the photo too.

  5. Thanks Ron, for your kind words and the suggestions too. A walk (especially in nature) can be a great motivator, I agree.

About the flower, I’m no expert but I think this is a rhododendron, or so I’ve been told. Whatever it is, I agree it IS gorgeous! Any flower experts dropping by, do tell. 😉

Lauren, thanks so much for your kind words and for sharing how you find your muse again too. I hope you have a lovely weekend too.

Thanks dear! I am feeling the “creative juices” flowing again and it’s a very good feeling. I’ve had a slow start to the year but here I go!!!

    Happy Friday and Weekend, G

  6. I find taking a break helps clear the mind of clutter. The more I try to ‘drive’ myself the more knotted up the brain tissues get so taking a break is more beneficial for me. With everything else going on in my life right now I hadn’t the time to write… yet when I put my mind to it another two stories emerged.

  7. When I’M low down, dried up, I pick up my camera my world changes every time…I’m glad you’re back on track, you have so much to offer

  8. oh and the photo Divine: I whistled lol
