A Tanka Moment: Spring Thaw

geese-tanka

This is a poem from the archives and my first attempt at Tanka poetry.

I hope you enjoy it for the first time, or perhaps, once again! 😉

It has definitely “thawed” here in BC, only a bit of snow left up on the higher mountains. Everything else is starting to bloom! 🙂

How is your weather?

You can read more about Tanka poetry here.

Have a Wonderful Weekend! 🙂

Haiku Reflections: The Promise of Spring

the promise of spring haiku

Not much color here yet, in Interior BC, just a lot of greys and browns to look at. 😦

Thought this haiku and “pop” of color  from my photo files would make for a nice change today.

How are things where you are? Any buds, plants, flowers in bloom yet?

Wishing You a Wonderful Week! 🙂

A Haiku/Haiga Trio for Spring

It’s not quite here yet but spring is certainly on my mind.

And on the minds of a lot of bloggers, from what I’ve been reading. 😉

Hope you enjoy this trio of encore haiga posts from the MPP archives.

Any signs of spring where you are?

A Nod and a Wink to Early Spring

early spring

It’s coming.

The quickening pace.

Fragrance of the still frozen, yet warming soil.

The underground network of…

Vines, forgotten seeds and satiny bulbs: wait.

Wait, for the soft touch of the Sun-fairy’s magic wand.

Shifts everywhere.

The horizon, the sun.

Birds return.

Water rises.

Animals venture out.

Earth awakens slowly.

The promise: again renewed.

Life sustained.

As we wait for and anticipate.

The joyful arrival of spring.

PS: Having a browse around my archives this morning and found this spring poem and photo.

Can you tell I’ve got spring on my mind, in a big way. 😉

Also did a bit of revising. Hope you enjoy this new version!

Have a wonderful day. 🙂

Haiku Reflections: Snow Melts, Reveals Spring

snow melts reveals spring

Spring comes early, here in BC Canada.

And this year, I can’t wait! 🙂

Unlike where I grew up on the Prairies, where it’s not unusual to have snow, well into May.

I’ve had spring on my mind a lot these days. It’s been so grey and dreary lately. 😦

But thoughts of sunshine and color, keep me looking forward; if only in my thoughts and dreams.

This haiku from my first haiku book: Haiku Reflections: The Four Seasons, came to mind recently too.

It also gave me a little mood-boost! I hope it does the same for you too! 🙂

Happy (and hopefully, early) Spring!

Haiku Reflections: Spring Rain and Warm Winds

spring rains and warm winds

This haiku and photo came to mind today as the weather continues to be warm and sunny, here in BC.

Spring’s wondrous evolution…love it!

I hope you enjoy this encore from the archives and that Spring is arriving in full force, where you are too.

Enough with that snow in the East brrrr… 😦

Happy Week! 🙂
